Knit and crochet dishcloths are far better than anything mass produced that you find in the department stores. I love creating patterns for simple items that even the beginner can make, as it gives them a sense of satisfaction to be able to complete something useful as they start to learn the craft. This pattern is for a simple knit dishcloth that is similar to the seed stitch which gives it just the slightest texture, making it perfect to scrub dishes and counter tops in the kitchen, as well as faces and bodies when used as a wash cloth in the bath. When completed as written, the cloth will measure approximately 8 1/2" square, but gauge isn't really important. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Cast on, basic knit and purl, bind off SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Approximately 8 1/2 "
