Sometimes you need a little something extra to keep you warm in the change of seasons. This is a quick and easy vest to knit, and suitable for beginners as it only involves garter, stockinette and simple decreases. The self-striping yarn provides beautiful color changes, but it would also look great in color block. This is a basic pattern, with which you can be creative and add your own stitch patterns. this pattern has approximately 2" of positive ease for a comfortable fit over other clothing and also for longer wear. I am a self taught designer, having spent many hours researching and reading about the skills needed to learn clothing design. Having had much experience sewing, gave me a lot of knowledge about how clothing is constructed, which is an essential skill in being able to design. Experience knitting, gave me the tools I needed to master knitting techniques and be able to shape the fabric in the way I want. Learning is an ongoing pastime, there are always new techniques to master. I design clothing for children up to about 10 years and also adults. I have been published in Universal Yarns, Willow Yarns, One Skein Wonders for Babies, as well as various online magazines and self published designs.
