Recently my granddaughters asked me to knit them matching sweaters. Then my grandsons wanted matching sweaters too. This sweater is what I knit for the boys and my Son. It is funny though, all my test knitters knit theirs for females. This speaks to the versatility of this pattern. Because the yarn yardage block only allows for one yarn amount I wanted to let you know that these are the yarn requirement for the various sizes: 1020 (1100, 1100, 1210, 1310, 1400, 1400, 1550, 1610, 1680, 1740) yds. My 5th grade teacher taught my whole class to knit. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was about 7 or 8 and an old family friend taught me to embroider when I was very young. I was always doing some kind of needlework. As an adult I supplemented our family income by sewing professionally. Now I'm thoroughly enjoying the process of designing and writing knitting patterns. My sewing knowledge has been extremely beneficial when designing clothing patterns.
