Pattern Details

This toasty neckwarmer will keep you cozy on the coldest days. The pattern is a simple but effective combination of moss stitch and cables. The resulting knit fabric is close-fitting but not constricting around the neck. The button closure allows for easy wear and provides a classic finishing touch. This is a terrific project for a quick gift or a single skein of special yarn. The pattern sample was worked in a handspun yarn that worked to a gauge of 4.5 stitched to 1 inch in moss stitch on 5.5 mm needles. Any yarn that works to a similar gauge would be suitable for this design. I’m from Nova Scotia, went to university in Ontario, lived in Newfoundland for a bit, and now reside in the Northwest Territories, with my husband, the floatplane, and snowmachines named George and Fred. When not busy with my day job, I can be found enjoying outdoor adventure in the Canadian north or indulging obsessions with knitting, quilting, and pottery. Arts and crafts have always been an integral part of my life. I can't even remember learning to knit and embroider other than knowing that my grandmother helped me out at first.
