Make the hats in any colors desired; it certainly does not have to be red, white and blue. I am just thinking ahead to summer holidays and patriotic accessories in the US. With the exception of the I-Cord, the remainder of the hat is knit in the round. This project is very easy for a beginning knitter with some experience, and it is a very portable project as well. The 3 skeins of yarn will make several hats, so switch the colors around if desired. Permission is granted to sell your finished projects, but please give me credit for the pattern! I have been knitting for 60 years and since the grandchildren arrived have been knitting daily. I decided I wanted to create easy predominantly seamless knitting projects because I love knitting in the round, and more important I hate to sew pieces together! I have had many wonderful comments from knitters who have created items from my patterns and like their finished projects, but should you come across a flaw or something that doesn't seem quite right in the instructions, I hope you will contact me! Contact me at with any of your questions or concerns. You are free to sell your finished items, but please give me credit for the pattern. Thank you and happy knitting!
