It all started when I was pregnant with kid #3. I had been using a Winnie the POO (pun intended) diaper bag for 5 years strait and the thought of lugging it around for another 3 years WAS UNBEARABLE!!! At the same time, I noticed a woman with a cute over sized bag and asked about it. When I found out how it was made, I thought, I can do that. And I did! Then all of my neighbors wanted one. I am completely a self taught knitter. When I was an EXTREMELY BORED kid, I fashioned some needles from the dowels I pulled off of a couple of wooden coat hangers. I used an encyclopedia to learn the knit and purl stitches . I did not touch another pair of needles again until I was 34 and needed that diaper bag. Since then, I have sold hundreds of bags, over 2,000 patterns. Although I mostly self publish, my designs have been included in bestselling books, magazines and knitting calendars.
