Collecting conkers is one of the things I love about autumn. I think most Brits know about conkers, and the game played with them, but if you don't know what they are please have a look at the posts on my blog. I think in the States conkers are called buckeyes. This is just a fun little knit. It is easy, and is knitted on two needles, and takes a very small amount of wool. The pattern contains instructions on how to knit the conker, and its distinctive shell. There is a companion pattern for a horse chestnut leaf. I am going to use my leaves to decorate a bag, with a conker drawstring, for my little conker collectors BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knitting SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished conker is approx 5cm across

The inspiration for my knitting patterns often comes from nature. I love little knitting projects, and try my hardest to be realistic with my plant and animal designs. Often my projects start from something very personal: my own house or my husband's first car. Then I develop them into something that I think will be appealing. I live on the outskirts of London, and work part-time at a local school. My own children are always doing something creative. At school I love the days when we get really messy.
