I love the ease and beauty of self-striping yarn, but was getting tired of making all striped socks. This fun pair uses one skein of self-striping yarn and one solid for a fair-isle knitting experience that has a lot of color punch without a million color changes. These top-down socks begin with a rolled edge, proceed to ribbing, then begin the stranded colorwork of the body of the sock. The heel is an Eye of Partridge design and the toe is closed with Kitchener Stitch. A video tutorial is available online for the Kitchener Stitch. Also, since working fair-isle in socks can make the socks fit more snugly, make sure you check your gauge!
