PATTERN DETAILS

Charming Shawls on a Spring Day was designed, surprisingly enough, while dreaming of spring as I watched the snow fall in late winter, a winter that felt like it would never end. It's a simple, top down shawl, that's begun with a stockinette section that can be made as big or as small as you like, and then a simple mesh edging is added. This design is simple to make any size, using any weight of yarn, and works well for scraps or stash-busting. Gauge in fingering weight is: 15 sts=4"/10.4 cm in stockinette stitch. Exact gauge isn't critical. Sample measured 25" deep by 70" across after heavy blocking, using less than one skein of Lion Brand Sock-Ease (100 grams, 75% wool, 25% nylon, 438 yards/400 meters). Many thanks to my testers, honeystalks, FlossieFlorence, jladybug671, tinkershell, knittylucia, and mabear! Many extra thanks as well to AshwiniJ for her tech editing skills! My name is Anastacia, and I am the scrap yarn/one skein queen. I buy my yarn mainly at yard sales/thrift stores, so I got used to making do with what I could find. So most of my patterns are designed to use up the odd skeins or leftovers in your life, and are geared towards beginner crocheters or those who just want a fast, easy, but still pretty item. I'm a 30 something adult living in MA. I’m married, have a wonderful cat named Wedgie, & I work full time. I also teach knitting & crocheting at my local Michael's & squeeze in designing as many hours as I can a week. I do love to hear from everyone, but please remember that I am busy, just like you, & will reply as soon as I can. All of my patterns use USA terms & abbreviations. I try to layout my patterns as simply as possible to save money for people printing at home. My patterns are as short as possible, usually with only one photo on the first page, which you can easily skip printing to save ink. .
