This lovely soft and stylish scarf was inspired by the arched portcullis entranceway and crenelated towers of the 800-year-old Carisbrooke Castle that is situated on the beautiful Isle of Wight. It is worked on straight needles with the lace pattern worked on the right side only and with a simple purl and knit on the reverse and consists of a repeat of three lace panels separated by narrow garter stitch borders. The trellis pattern is repeated on both edges with the archway pattern in the centre. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knit, Purl, Yarn Over, Knit 2 Together, Slip Slip Knit.
