Crows are very clever birds, which may explain why they are so interesting and a bit frightening. This crow doesn't look so smart and at only 6" tall he doesn't seem too menacing either. Nevertheless, he would make a great Halloween decoration or a gift for a bird loving kid. For an ADVENTUROUS BEGINNER knitter, because although the pattern does contain short row shaping it is fully explained in the pattern, if you can knit flat and in the round on double pointed needles, you can knit Big Crow. I'm an expat Brit living in the San Francisco Bay Area and a stay at home Mum. I'm also an avid knitter with many ideas for interesting designs using unusual construction and techniques. My Mum taught me to knit when I was 7 years old, I thought I'd forgotten it but when I came back to knitting 7 years ago I discovered that it was all still there. I love to knit in 3D and around corners, so I use knitting in the round and short row shaping in many of my designs. I'd also prefer not to sew lots of pieces together, so my knitted toy designs have as little sewing as I can manage.
