Isn't it time to knit something a little "Beachy"? This project had me searching through all my photos of sand and surf and sun. This is a sunset photo from Ft. Meyers, FL. Enjoy! It's a fun wrap or scarf, knit in a self-fringing, feather & fan pattern, perfect to toss on as the sun sets. [Berroco Karma][1] is a chunky cotton yarn that knits up quickly with size 11 needles (32"). It is 14" deep x 56" long plus fringe. Gauge is 3sts./in. after blocking. Knit it as stripes or in one color. Extend the depth of the wrap by adding another skein. Color Key Color 1 - Lapis 3412 Color 2 - Aquamarine 3480 Color 3 - Ultramarine Violet 3425 Color 4 - Malachite 3424 Wear it fastened with an amazing shawl pin or sew a few buttons along the top points of the pattern to have more options. Hi! I'm Diane L. Augustin and I am Yarn Happy - Bead Happy I teach knitting, crocheting and Tunisian crochet classes at several yarn shops and art centers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul/St. Croix Valley area. One of my passions is knitting and crocheting with beads. I also manage the daily activities and teach classes at ThunderWillow Community Arts in Hudson, WI. I have classes at Ramsay County and Hudson libraries, as well as through Hudson Community Education. I often conduct workshops and demonstrations at special events and festivals in the area. I have been teaching professionally for seven years. My background as a graphic artist in the publishing industry facilitates my ability to design, write, produce and publish my patterns. I am also the photographer. I continuously develop new designs, offering them as classes, with a focus on teaching techniques. I learned to knit continental or combination style at seven years old from my grandmother, who had to teach me in order to get her own knitting back from me! I live in western WI, just outside of Hudson, with my husband, Lance and the boss of the household, Thomas Edison, our stray kitty who came to stay. I am Yarn Happy Bead Happy! I hope my designs will become your favorites. I am Yarn Happy Bead Happy! My pattern was published in the newly released book, [North Shore Knits][2], produced by [Three Irish Girls][3]. The book is composed of patterns by local designers, inspired by the fantastic new color ways created by Three Irish Girls. My designs are also published in the [Knitting: 100+ Patterns Throughout the Year: 2013-2017 Day-to-Day Calendars][4] as well as [Crochet: 100+ Patterns Throughout the Year: 2013-2017 Day-to-Day Calendars][5].
