Research on historical clothing, which Kira did during her former career as a theatrical costume designer, is a strong influence on her design sense, and many patterns reference styles from the 1920s through the 1960s. Kira's family history of Danish Modern furniture design is also an important influence on her patterns, resulting in garments and accessories with clean lines and intriguing details that are both interesting to make and easy to wear.
