Wrap yourself in colorful softness with this easy bargello knitting project! Skill Level: Intermediate Required Skills: simple crochet stitches, intarsia experience helpful Two Sizes: Shawlette (large shawl). Instructions for the shawlette are given first followed by the large shawl in parentheses. Finished Measurements: (not including fringe) Wingspan: 43"/109cm (62"/157.5cm), depth: 21"/53cm (33"/84cm) Gauge: 15 sts and 21 rows (13 sts and 18 rows) = 4"/10cm in Stitch Pattern 1, after blocking. Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect yardage and size of finished piece. Take time to check gauge. Materials: Yarn: For shawlette, 500 yards of sport weight gradient yarn. For large shawl, 580 yards of worsted weight gradient yarn and 390 yards of matching solid. Shawlette shown in Noro Mirai (40% cotton, 25% silk, 25% viscose, 10% polyamide; 360yds/100g): colors #3 and #7, 1 skein each; Red Heart Unforgettable (100% acrylic; 280yds/100g): color #3950 Petunia, 2 skeins; and Lotus Yarns Sunset (70% merino wool, 30% soybean; 131yds/50g): #262 Sunset (MC) 4 skeins. Large shawl shown in Universal Yarn Classic Shades (70% acrylic, 30% wool; 197yds/100g): #734 Cool Blazes (MC) 3 skeins with #606 Burgundy (CC) 2 skeins; #724 Campfire (MC) 3 skeins with #602 Coffee (CC) 2 skeins. Needles: US 8/4.5mm 24" circular (US 9/5.5mm 32" circular, or size needed to obtain gauge Crochet hook: Size G/4.5mm (H/5mm) Notions: 4 (6) stitch markers, 5 (7) resealable sandwich baggies, yarn needle, blocking wires or T-pins, ball winder, yarn meter or scale
