PATTERN DETAILS

Autumn Crocus is a fun, relaxing shawl designed to use a sock weight yarn with limited yardage of less than 400 yards paired with a contrast yarn from your sockweight leftovers. Fun and frugal - the perfect combination. Knit from the top down there is plenty of soothing stocking stitch and a simple but effective garter stitch and lace panel repeated at intervals. Once the main body the shawl is complete, the lace border is worked with no further stitch repeats - making for a stress-free end to your project. As pictured in the sample, the shawl measures a generous 49" wide and 20" deep. The shawl was inspired by the Where-I-Live Craft-a-along and reflects the fact that Saffron Walden where I live was named for it's fields of crocus' - the saffron harvest being a chief source of income for the growing medieval market town. My username is LouiseTilbrook and my website is louisetilbrookdesigns.blogspot.co.uk/ My passion for knitting socks has finally spilled over into sock pattern design. My aim is to create simple but classic socks in semi-solid and solid colours - suitable for men and women alike. All too often I have struggled to find sock patterns suitable for the men in my life which don’t involve miles of stockinette so I decided to create a range of straightforward and elegant patterns, easily adaptable for men and women. I love to support British Indie dyers and have a particular fondness for semi-solids and subtle colourways.
