PATTERN DETAILS

I designed this afghan in honor of my uncle, Joel, and in memory of my grandmother, Ruth. 100% of the profits will benefit the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Yes, crocheters; a version for you is coming :) This is a variant of the more traditional log cabin afghan. Each square is made individually & is sewn together. It makes for a very portable & easy project, & doesn't take as long as you might think to put together. It's a great stash buster; I used mainly worsted weight yarns, & also used fingering weight held double. Each square takes about 3.5 ounces / 100 grams to complete: 1.7 ounces will be needed for the first 5 sections, & 1.7 ounces for the last 4 sections. Thanks to olive2, nathalierevel, autumngirl84, donnaAlley, purlingkitten, kamah, KnititKim, and nwheatley for their test knitting skills! And many thanks to Susan Moskwa (http://www.rogueedits.com) for her tech editing skills! This pattern would not have been possible without all of you. Feel free to make as many of these as you like for local craft fairs/auctions/raffles/bazaars, but please do not sell finished items online. If making for charity, please let me know the name of the charity & include my contact info with the item (http://anastaciaknits.net / anastaciaknits on Ravelry). Anastacia Knits Designs
My name is Anastacia, and I am the scrap yarn/one skein queen. I buy my yarn mainly at yard sales/thrift stores, so I got used to making do with what I could find. So most of my patterns are designed to use up the odd skeins or leftovers in your life, and are geared towards beginner crocheters or those who just want a fast, easy, but still pretty item. I'm a 30 something adult living in MA. I’m married, have a wonderful cat named Wedgie, & I work full time. I also teach knitting & crocheting at my local Michael's & squeeze in designing as many hours as I can a week. I do love to hear from everyone, but please remember that I am busy, just like you, & will reply as soon as I can. All of my patterns use USA terms & abbreviations. I try to layout my patterns as simply as possible to save money for people printing at home. My patterns are as short as possible, usually with only one photo on the first page, which you can easily skip printing to save ink. .
