Project

Swarovski Crystal 'Open Heart' Necklace

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? I'm most proud of being able to do this pattern without following instructions and adding my own twist by making a different colour for each side so that it produces a 2-Tone effect. I also altered the design slightly to create a 'Cirlce' shape instead of a 'Heart' which also gives a beautiful effect. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I would advise that if you're new to jewellery design and bead weaving that you should start with something a little easier first just to practise. Other than that, just take your time and concentrate!

What you will need

  • For this piece I used 84 bicone Swarovski Crystal beads (4mm) and silver coloured seed beads. The thread I used was medium thickness nylon beading thread (too thin and it doesn't keep it's shape
  • too thick and you can't cross through the beads enough times).

I really love this heart! It is listed as a "FREE PATTERNS" within the craftsy website. However, I did not see where to print out the free pattern, can you help me on this? Thank you!!
NikkisJewellery answered:
Hi, thanks for liking my jewellery. I have no printable pattern for this as I found a tutorial video online that I followed. Unfortunately, I can't find the same video again, so can't put the link on here. I will try and put together a series of pictures with instructions though, to help you out. Hope this helps, xx

I've been trying to figure it out for the past 72 hours it's not easy
NikkisJewellery answered:
Hi, Sorry that the link no longer works. I've had a good look around for another one that explains the pattern clearly and I think I've found a good one: https://youtu.be/1wMyZ2gx_Dc. The only difference is that where the lady in the video uses 3mm bicone crystals for creating the inside of the curve, I used normal/average sized seed beads (I think 11/0). It's up to you though which you prefer. Hope this helps :o) xx
