Thank Jenny! The assemblage was quite interesting... took me a while to figure it out! I made and dried the two hoops first, then as carefully as I could wrapped a cut piece of clay around them, let that dry, then made the bail, let that dry, then connected it to the rest with slip. The big hoop is actually stuck to the bail (doesn't move)- the small one can swing. I was wondering if maybe I should have fired the first two hoops first, then added the bail. Does it make a difference? If I fired the hoops first then added the bail (with no slip) would both hoops hang freely or would they sinter together, even without slip? THanks for all your help!
