Rivoli Locket

Project Description

What was your source for this jewelry project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Spiral Locket Tutorial and Trinket Box Tutorial Link to website or photo Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? I have already tried to make a trinket box with a rivoli incorporated into the lid in 2011 (3rd pic) but didn't like the outcome at all. The rivoli looks like it's sunken into the vessel. I really like the scalloped edge on the new version. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Begin with Mary's locket. It's quite easy, although it needs a bit of practice. The trinket box is a bit more complicated. Then experiment with different shapes and different weaves.

What you will need

  • 18g and 26g copper wire
  • 16mm rivoli (crystal volcano; gorgeous color)
  • 4mm bicone bead

Do you have this tutorial to share? I can't find it anywhere on the web. Thanks
HeikeK answered:
I'm sorry Hannah, there is no tutorial. A while back I started with Mary Tucker's Spiral Locket:, then I tried to experiment. All my lockets and trinket boxes are based on Mary's tutorial. It was published in Step by Step Wire Jewelry 2010 Vol.6 No.1 (Feb/March). If you can't get the magazine perhaps you can ask Mary where to get the tutorial. She's Wired Elements on Facebook:
