Pearls and Paua pendant

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women

What you will need

  • I have set this piece of Paua shell
  • also known as Abalone
  • in sterling silver. I hand selected this piece whilst I was in Kaikoura
  • in New Zealand. My partner then cut it into a circular cabochon for me. I have set the Paua in a sterling silver Viking knit bezel
  • which has created a pretty pattern around the edge. I have embellished the front of the pendant with a sterling silver Seahorse and tiny 2mm freshwater pearls. I have also secured a pearl around the edge of the shell
  • in each loop of the bezel. The pendant is 1 1/2" tall (including the bail) and 7/8" at it's widest point. The pendant hangs on a 17" sterling silver chain.

Q&A with Abby Hook

Jans crafts asked:
I love the design. Very inventive. You need to do a class on how to do the Viking knit bezel or write a pattern sheet. Just an idea. You may have already done this. Let me know.
Abby Hook answered:
Thank you - it is on my list of 'to dos' ;)
LoveBeads asked:
Hi Abby. Is the Pearls and Paua pendant for sale. It's so beautiful and I'd love to wear it. Thanks. Sue.
Abby Hook answered:
Thank you so much for your comment Sue, I am sorry but this pendant has sold already.
