Garden Delight

Project Description

Who is this project for? Women What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the way the painted beads turned out. I purchase small balsa wood beads at a craft shop and then perch them on top of small dollar store paint brushes. Once secure, I do a base coat and let it dry and then, using fine brushes and Humbrol acrylic paint (they are awesome), I paint a free hand design onto the beads. Not one bead is the same. I match up colours found in the painted beads to make whatever piece I am working on. In this case, I had some rich blues and reds that complemented the painted beads. Once finished I use a crystal coat to protect the work and usually apply three to four coats, drying after each. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Painting beads is a wonderful way to express your own unique vision and each one will have been a unique expression of who you are... My advice is ALWAYS to experiment and have fun!

Very, very pretty. It must require great patience, not to mention artistic talent and skill to created the hand-painted beads.
Lamoco answered:
Thanks so much for your comment.... it does take alot of time and patience and I am not really a painter but like to play with colours. I appreciate the feedback!
