I was adapting a quilt pattern called Ocean Waves for beadwork. Peyote/brick stitch, which I usually design in, just wasn't working, so I switched to loom/square. Needless to say Ocean Waves didn't happen, but this facsimile of a Dutch windmill gradually emerged and was tweaked to this pattern. The three repeats shown measure 6.3 inches long. You can add partial repeats or solid color on each end to make it longer if desired. I hope you enjoy working this design. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You should know how to work loom or square stitch and how to attach a clasp SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 1 inch wide by desire length

Recommended with this pattern

  • size 11 seed beads in 4 colors. amounts vary with color
  • Beading needle, scissors, beading thread of your choice

The Bead Doodler
I've been designing beaded jewelry since 2007. My initial attempts at designing were to make beautiful jewelry with semi-precious (healing) stones. The beads kind of took over my life and I'm not particular what I use to design with as long as it is a high quality bead. I can't say I have a favorite stitch or type of bead, but lately I've been experimenting with the new Twin beads and Super Duos. Next on my to-do list is design some items with Cubic Right Angle Weave with the Twins. It works in my head, now to put thread and beads to it.
