Sometimes you're in the mood for earrings or a pendant, sometimes for a whole necklace or bracelet. Whatever your mood, this design will satisfy it. The basic component is a beaded bead which can be made singly for an earring or pendant, or connected with right angle weave for a necklace or bracelet. The instructions also contain two variants: one using larger rondelles; the other with slightly smaller rondelles. There is not a marked difference in appearance between the two, however the version with the larger rondelles is somewhat fatter around the equator. This is based on right angle weave and netting, and although you don't need to be proficient in either stitch, you should be at least an intermediate seed beader with good needle and thread skills. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY right angle weave good needle and thread skills netting SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Necklace as long as desired Each beaded bead is about 1.5" in length

Recommended with this pattern

  • Japanese fringe beads (not magatamas; amount depends on item made)
  • Japanese size 11 seed beads (10-15g for necklace)
  • Japanese size 8 seed beads (under 5g for necklace)

I can neither imagine nor remember a time when I wasn't making things. I have tried almost every fiber art, and currently knit and spin my own yarn. I sew clothes and furnishings occasionally. I've dabbled in polyclay, lampwork and silver-smithing, but immerse myself in seed beading. I teach at a local bead store, as well at national shows from time to time. Patterns in my shop are by and large based on classes I have taught, so they've been tested on real people!
