Lovely oval beaded beads with a hole large enough for a fatter chain (such as one of the popular add-a-bead systems), but along with a round or oval bead barely bigger than the hole, perfect for stringing. Use peyote stitch, netting and right angle weave with a variety of beads for a bold beaded bead. Because of the variety of beads used, you can pick a gently blending colour palette, or jazz it up with wild contrasts. Since they are hollow, these beaded beads are light enough for earrings, as well as working well for a bold necklace or dainty pendant. You should be very comfortable with right angle weave and peyote stitch, and have good control of your thread tension, as this bead is hollow and self-supporting, relying partially on tight tension for its structure. They're also perfect for using up very small quantities of beads (the gram amounts are approximate - and possibly over-generous for a single bead). BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY right angle weave peyote stitch netting SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS about 3/4" long

I can neither imagine nor remember a time when I wasn't making things. I have tried almost every fiber art, and currently knit and spin my own yarn. I sew clothes and furnishings occasionally. I've dabbled in polyclay, lampwork and silver-smithing, but immerse myself in seed beading. I teach at a local bead store, as well at national shows from time to time. Patterns in my shop are by and large based on classes I have taught, so they've been tested on real people!
