My inspiration for this glamorous necklace came while visiting an antique fair. I came across a stall selling hundreds of glass paperweights bursting with tiny flowers encased in a small glass dome and I loved the delicate 3D look of those pretty blooms. The necklace is made up of 5 leaves of decreasing sizes. The centre leaf is the largest and the two end ones are the smallest. The leaves themselves are perfectly achievable if you are an intermediate beginner and lend themselves to making a pendant or earrings. The links require more experience but require a bit of practice and a careful following of the steps. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Make loops Make spirals Make a wire frame Handle long pieces of thin wire

My passion for jewellery designing and making started 12 years ago with a silversmithing course and I have since embraced other techniques such as stringing, bead weaving, chain maille, resin but my true love is wirework in which I now specialize. I have contributed a monthly project to Beads & Beyond for the past 3 years, written numerous tutorials which I sell on my website and I am the author of The Absolute Beginner's Guide: Making Wire Jewellery (published by Kalmbach books) which teaches you in great detail all the basic techniques you need to become proficient at wirework. Don't forget to download my free tutorial about the basic tools you need to get started in wirework.
