Color gradation is the focus of my Triangle Blossom necklace. You learn to work smooth gradations of color in the cord and the tassels of the flowers (fringe). My beading design for this elegant lariat necklace uses tubular herringbone stitch, right angle weave, and fringe. You bead the cord in herringbone stitch, adding the fringe as you go, and you complete the stem of the flower using right angle weave. I am a beader, beading kit designer, teacher, art quilter, fiber artist, writer, and editor. Playing with color is my passion. I have been beading for over 20 years and have taught nationally at Bead Fest and Bead and Button. I currently teach a national correspondence class on beading through the Embroiderer's Guild of America. In about 2009, I started making art quilts and fiber art. I had discovered thread painting and free motion quilting, and they are what drew me to those media. I love combining hand and machine work. I usually add beading to my art quilts and fiber art, most frequently bead embroidery. I also love embroidering with thread and yarns. I am now thread painting and free motion quilting much of my art too.
