PATTERN DETAILS

The herringbone stitch is also known as Ndebele stitch. It is most commonly made into a flat piece of beading, or a straight rope. Here is a tutorial to show you how to make it into a spiral rope. This tutorial also explains how to do ladder stitch and basic herringbone stitch. This pattern is worked with all the same size beads; there is another variation that uses a triangle bead to create the spiral.

Recommended with this pattern

ABOUT ME My name is Jenny Lawson, and I live in Australia. I have been doing all sorts of crafts for over 40 years. I especially love crochet and quilling. But my absolute favourite has to be jewellery making and beaded flowers, including chainmail, wirework, French Beading, Victorian beading, and many other styles. There are many different kinds of beadweaving, and as far as I know I’ve done almost every type there is. I have 3 websites, Craft Cove is mainly for jewellery and gifts Flower Cove is for flowers and hair accessories Night Cove is for Goth and steampunk http://craftcove.weebly.com/ http://flowercove.weebly.com/ https://sites.google.com/site/nightcove/ Please think about donating a small amount to help me continue to share patterns.
