Herringbone stitch, rondelles, beaded beads in two sizes just by changing the sizes of the beads used - what could be better? Both sizes of beaded beads are worked in exactly the same way, merely using a set of smaller beads to make the smaller beaded bead, and larger beads to make the larger beaded bead. This sophisticated shape is quite quick to make, and not too tricky. It helps if you know herringbone stitch, but it's not essential. Just to be clear: to make the smaller Herringbaubles, use size 15, 11, amd 8 seed beads with 4x6mm faceted rondelles, and for the larger Herringbaubles, use size 11, 8 and 6 seed beads with 6x9mm faceted rondelles. Each Herringbauble uses four rondelles and a small amount of seed beads. I can neither imagine nor remember a time when I wasn't making things. I have tried almost every fiber art, and currently knit and spin my own yarn. I sew clothes and furnishings occasionally. I've dabbled in polyclay, lampwork and silver-smithing, but immerse myself in seed beading. I teach at a local bead store, as well at national shows from time to time. Patterns in my shop are by and large based on classes I have taught, so they've been tested on real people!
