I love sculpturing peyote using various sized beads. I designed this bracelet in the early summer when butterflies were plentiful. It just reminds me of summer. The green sample is made with a background of delica beads and size 11 and size 8 czech seed beads. the blue sample is made with a background of size 15 with the butterflies made with size 11 and size 8 seed beads. I don't recommend this project for beginners, as keeping the thread taut enough to sculpture it takes some practice. Otherwise it is simply peyote stitch. On the pattern pages, I have provided you with: Pictures of the finished project Large numbered graph Tips and hints Instructions for an easy Warp Turn for odd count peyote Approximate Finished size: 1 inch W X length desired Supplies Used: size 15 seed beads or size 11 delicas, size 11 seed beads in 3 different colors, size 8 seed beads. The Bead Doodler
I've been designing beaded jewelry for about 8 years. My initial attempts at designing were to make beautiful jewelry with semi-precious (healing) stones. The beads kind of took over my life and I'm not particular what I use to design with as long as it is a high quality bead. I can't say I have a favorite stitch or type of bead, but lately I've been experimenting with the new Twin beads and Super Duos. Next on my to-do list is design some items with Cubic Right Angle Weave with the Twins. It works in my head, now to put thread and beads to it.
