The earrings are made from black and golden seed beads. To give some additional accent there is wrapped around golden color wire. Great present for coming season holidays. These earrings has a story to tell. Saint Lucia's Day is one of the only saints celebrated by the overwhelmingly Lutheran Scandinavian and Baltic peoples on the 13th of December. It marks the beginning of Christmas season and it means bringing of hope and light. Saint Lucy comes as a young woman with lights and sweets. A procession is headed by one girl wearing a crown of candles (or lights), while others in the procession hold only a single candle each. Lucia can be perceived as a symbol of the good forces in life and a symbol of light in the dark winter The St. Lucy's Day celebrations retain many indigenous Scandinavian Germanic pagan, pre-Christian midwinter celebration elements associated with the annual struggle between light and darkness.
