Q&A with FiddlesAndBows

CharliD asked:
Love this! I really want to get rabbits again but didn't like the look of the regular ugly "cages", I will try to do this project with my boys so that they can appreciate the hard work and the pet more. Just one question: Do you have a hard time with the bunny droppings sometimes escaping the plastic bucket? with it being indoors would you adjust the plastic bucket a little higher or does it work better lower like I see in the pics? thanks :)
FiddlesAndBows answered:
Thank you! What a fun project to do with your kids. I don't have a problem with droppings getting out. Just make sure your tub is big enough. I've made two of these so far. In my second I ended up not using the drawer in the bottom. I just slid a big plastic tub in the slot where the drawer was. It is a little wider then the dresser and looks just fine. Good luck and let me know how it turns out. :)

Wow this Is amazing. One question so you use this inside. If so do you have another hutch outside for them to run around in
FiddlesAndBows answered:
I kept them inside for a long time when I only had 2 bunnies. Since then I j have added to my family of buns and now keep them in an air conditioned room off my back porch.
leandra.l11501791 asked:
Do you still put shavings on the bottom level? Does the wire bother them?
FiddlesAndBows answered:
There is a small litter box in the cage that he uses plus the big plastic tote under the wire that catches evertytjng else. The wire doesn't seem to bother him. Most of the time he likes to sit in his litter box plus there are the 2 resting shelves that he can use.
Caralee Brush asked:
This is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!! How did you make your resting shelfs?
FiddlesAndBows answered:
Thank you! The shelves are actually made from the bottom of the drawers and then mounted to the sliders that the drawers use to sit on. I hope you make one.
