What are you most proud of? I'm most proud when I see the joy that my projects bring to people who cannot sew or embroidery. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you hand embroider or machine embroider, this project would be an easy project that will bring a bit of springtime into any mom's kitchen! It is a great way to "practice" sewing binding and sewing on buttons with your sewing machine. I used a dab of glue stick on the middle of the flower and pressed the button down so it would stay in place. Then, I used my button setting on my machine to sew on the buttons. (Check your sewing machine manual, most of the newer machines have a section explaining the HOW TO SEW ON A BUTTON!) I PROMISE, that once you have mastered this option, you'll never HAND SEW another button!!! I purchased the measuring spoons and kitchen towels (on sale) in one store and matched the oven mitts (on sale) from another store! I carefully removed the binding from the oven mitts, as I wanted to resew it back on to the mitts, after embroidering the flowers and sewing on the buttons. To be sure that the ric rac stayed in place, I first sewed the ric rack to the binding. Then, you can follow the stitch line when you sew on the binding to the oven mitt.
