Digitizing Embroidery Designs. A sampler

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm very proud of being capable to finally make my own simple digitizing designs I have learned in this class and understood what I can do and what is not practical to try to achieve. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Give yourself time to understand your software. Keep trying despite of the frustration and you'll be able to do it too. If I could do it you can too!. Ask to the class and to yourself questions and you'll find the answers.

What you will need

  • Cotton fabrics and machine embroidery threads of various colors and brands. I used some scraps of batting for backing and give a firm support when free motion this piece.

Q&A with Groovyiaia

Jeanie Jones asked:
which digitizing software would you recommend? One that is very reasonably priced?
Groovyiaia answered:
I used Brother PEDesign7. It is a bit of an old version now. I'd got it together with my machine PE770 a few years back. I don't recommend it if you have to practice by yourself. I couldn't work it out till this class with Cookie, but I can not afford a new one, so I have to deal with it. In my opinion you should see someone doing the kind of work you like to do with the software you like to buy to be sure that you get value for money. Most of them are very expensive but not capable to do a complex work. I find that the domestic embroidery software is very much at the infancy stage. Be aware and good luck.
Enis Blizman asked:
