Project

Cut Thur Camper

Project Description

What are you most proud of? It's a big project and took many hours but I am really proud to have finished it. I am doing the cut thru lighthouse (they are one of my favourite things), although it's going to take some time to do! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Enjoy it, take your time and relax, I just did a few stitches when I felt like it and it soon grew.

What you will need

  • Cross Stitch camper kit from Bothy Threads

Q&A with saxostamper

desna asked:
This is just wonderful, you must have great patience but so worth the effort:)
saxostamper answered:
Thank you Desna, I do find it helps me to relax and I love all the bright colours and interesting things that the project contains. I have made some progress with the lighthouse but not much !
patz in suffolk asked:
I am lime green with envy - always wanted a VW camper van! This is a lovely embroidery and no wonder it took a long time - I know from experience how much time and dedication these things take, You can only do them when you're in the mood or you'll make one small mistake which throws the whole thing out and you'll never get it back again! I hope you hae great fun in your little VW - I'll look out for you on the highways and byways! Patricia
saxostamper answered:
Hi Pat, thank you, I love the camper. I am doing a cut thru lighthouse now from the same company, I tend to take it on holidays with me as I am too hooked on my sewing machine to do much at home now. Thanks for the lovely comment, your quilt is absoluately stunning.

sammy4230 asked:
like get for my mam where can you purchase from
saxostamper answered:
Hi, if you put in Bothy Threads into your search engine you can actually buy it from the manufacturer, if not you will find a stockist local to you or that will ship to where you are. I am doing the Cut Thru Lighthouse at the minute and really enjoying it too.
K Lee 2Strings asked:
My, goodness, look at that detail! So much fun! I'm so impressed with this piece! I have zero luck with cross stitch because I constantly lose count and wind up pulling out more thread than I stitch in.
saxostamper answered:
Hi, thank you. I did the Cut Thru Lighthouse after this one and have not done any cross stitch since, I think I sickened myself as they are such big projects. I am currently learning to crochet ! Cross stitch can be complicated, I used to photocopy my pattern to as large as I could get it which really helped. Thanks for your comments. K
