CHASUBLES AND STOLES

Project Description

What was your source for this embroidery project? Other What are you most proud of? THAT THEY ARE ALL COMPLETED. (They were a present for Father's Golden Jubilee 50years as a Priest) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Watch the stitch density of the digitized designs (they can be too dense). Don't use slippery fabric as it is difficult to hoop and difficult to stop puckering. I found the cutaway better to work with in this instance than tear away.

What you will need

  • FABRICS WERE 100% POLYESTER. FABRIC USED AS CENTRE PANNEL IN WHITE AND RED VESTMENTS WAS TAFFETA
  • IN THE GREEN AND PURPLE PANNEL WAS A SILKY POLLYESTER WHICH I FOUND DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH. EMBROIDERY THREAD WAS MADEIRA RAYON AND METALLIC THREAD. ALSO USED A LIGHT AND MEDIUM WEIGHT CUT AWAY STABALIZER. THE EMBROIDERY ON THE BACK PANNEL OF THE WHITE VESTMENTS (chalice) IS CROSS STITCH.
