Butterfly Hoodie

What are you most proud of? I loved the way it turned out. The pattern had the butterflies in two different colors. I wanted multiple colors without letting the eye pair up the twos. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Sweatshirt fleece is fun to embroider. I didn't follow the placement rules. Sometimes you just have to go and do it your way. This time it worked. At least I think it did.

You Can Make This

Golda Stein made Butterfly Hoodie with:

Machine Embroidery With Knits

Online Class

Machine Embroidery With Knits

with Deborah Jones

  • I was making the sweatshirt hoodie from Meg McElwee's knit class and decided that I needed to embroider it. The nice thing about embroidering something before it is sewn
  • it is easier to handle and less bulk. I used a set of butterflies from Urban Threads. I combined three different patterns
  • so they aren't really symmetrical but aren't obviously asymmetrical. The challenge was placement especially not knowing if part of the hood would cover the design.
