Pattern Details

A hand embroidery pattern inspired by vintage dress forms featuring a wire style dress form decorated with flowers and swirls. The design has shades of olive and slate accented with blue, purple, and burgundy flowers. This hand embroidery pattern measures around 4 1/2" x 8" and is easily transferred using methods found in craft and sewing stores, light box, or a window. Basic embroidery stitches are used in the pattern with stem stitch, back stitch, and lazy daisies for the flowers so it is a great pattern for beginners. The finished embroidery can be framed or it would make a fun sewing project. You can change the floss colors to match your home decor or a project you have in mind. It would look great in redwork, too! The floss colors used in the sample are noted in the pattern. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY stem stitch, back stitch, lazy daisy

Recommended with this pattern

  • fabric to embroider on, embroidery floss
  • embroidery needle, embroidery scissors, transfer method, embroidery hoop if desired

Welcome to my shop! I began sewing as a young girl in 4-H and my mother and grandmothers all liked to sew. I have a lovely collection of quilts from one of my grandmothers and crocheted afghans from my other grandmother. I love to draw and do needlework so when my children were little and I was staying home with them I decided to design my own patterns and greeting cards. I have a web site that shows all of my patterns and links to other items I make with my illustrations. www.cathierichardson.blogspot.com
