PATTERN DETAILS

Fluidly rolling hills covered with vineyards and lofty Italian cypresses standing like sentinels create an idyllic landscape in this embroidery pattern. As you stitch it, you may imagine yourself in the charming hilltop villa looking down the path to the fields. This pattern was inspired by the beautiful Tuscan countryside. I've been promised a trip there some day and this design was born from my daydreams about that far off trip. Hang in a hoop on the wall. Stitch a block for a quilt. Maybe even put it on a tea towel. Wherever you put it, it will bring tranquil thoughts of a lovely far off land. This pattern comes in a 7.5" size and a 5.5" size (would fit nicely in an 8 inch and 6 inch hoop respectively). As usual, a stitch and color guide are included. I've provided links in the pdf file to my favorite embroidery tutorials if you need a refresher on any of the stitches used. I am the craftiest daughter of a very crafty mother. She taught me a lot of crafty basics when I was young. In k-12, I used to get in trouble for drawing on my schoolwork. Later on I picked up a paintbrush and taught myself how to paint. For a brief period in college, I played with a computer based paper doll program (kisekae) and I got quite handy with a mouse. Today, I use my chronic doodling habit to develop cross stitch and embroidery patterns. I'm taking a break from designing patterns to work on a crazy quilt project. There are several new embroidery designs that I'm developing for this project. When it's done, I will work on publishing them as patterns here.
