Very easy and beginner friendly. Simple backstitch only using two colors. Chart is printed in color (no confusing symbols to read). Helpful hint: Mark the center of your fabric, and work from the center out. It will be much easier to keep your place and your finished design will be perfectly centered on your fabric. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Simple backstitching on counted thread fabric (Aida cloth or evenweave fabric). SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 106x106 stitches, or approximately 7.5x7.5"

Supplies Needed

  • 12x12" 14-count Aida or 28-count Evenweave fabric.
  • Approximately seven skeins of embroidery floss (four skeins of green, and three skeins of pink).
  • Embroidery needle, scissors, and embroidery hoop or stretcher frame.

When I was about five, my grandmother pinned the edge of a dishtowel to my skirt to hold it taut while I embroidered my initials. When I finished stitching, I discovered I'd stitched the towel to my skirt. Oh well. It did not deter me from having many adventures as I tried all types of needle crafts, but I always seem to return to my favorite, counted-thread embroidery. I hope you'll enjoy working my designs.
