A soft, white cotton cushion featuring 10 leaves in a crewelwork style The leaves in this design have a strong crewelwork element. The colourway is muted and features colours that are slightly unusual for autumn, but still give an autumnal feel to the project. I finished this pattern after moving back to South Africa from the UK and it still evokes strong memories of carpets of leaves under huge trees alongside the Thames in autumn. This is a 15-page digital pattern in PDF format. The pattern includes: Needle and thread requirements : A list of the DMC six-stranded cotton colours and the required needle types and sizes for the embroidery. Transfer instructions : Various options for transferring the design on to fabric. Full, illustrated embroidery instructions : The stitch types, DMC thread colours and number of strands to use are given in full, as well as any additional instructions needed to complete the embroidery. Reference photographs : Full-colour, close-up photos for reference when stitching each leaf of the design. Full-size design : The design is given at actual size (100%) for easy home printing, as well as at 50% for you to enlarge. I quickly ran out of projects to stitch when I first started embroidering and began coming up with my own more modern designs, using the skills I'd picked up working in the media industry. It was a small leap from there to making these designs available to others. I launched my website and first online pattern shop in 2009 while living in London, UK. But I now work from home in Johannesburg, South Africa, coming up with fresh, contemporary designs that use a variety of surface embroidery stitches.
