PATTERN DETAILS

Glow-in-the-dark tag, pendant, or bookmark. This is a quick-to-stitch Halloween pattern with endless finishing possibilities. Kreinik's glow-in-the-dark thread and Rainbow Gallery's Sparkle! Braid make this pattern sparkle and glow, like a jack o' lantern should. The Gentle Art Simply Shaker hand-dyed threads give the Jack 'o lantern a perfectly natural look, provided you don't stitch it in stripes. There's a link in the pattern to a tutorial about getting a natural, non-stripey look with hand-dyed threads. The model was finished as a tag for a child's trick-or-treat bag, but consider making it a necklace pendant, key chain fob, or bookmark. Stitch the pattern over one thread for Halloween earrings. Finishing instructions are included. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY If you know how to cross stitch, you're golden. If you can figure out how to begin and end threads and how to make an X, you'll be okay, too. The pattern includes cross stitch, backstitch, and wonky eyelets. Finishing instructions and a link to a finishing tutorial are included. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Stitch count: 35W x 36H Approximate design area on 14-count fabric (that covers 28-count stitched over 2 threads, which is what I did): 2.5 x 2.5 inches

Recommended with this pattern

  • Felt batting, optional
  • Kreinik Glow-In-The-Dark Thread, Lemon-Lime, 054F, #4 braid
