Fighting the Stigma of Cross Stitch! Cross stitch has become a bigger and bigger part of my life in recent years. It's always annoyed me that there hasn't been the kind of kits and patterns that I want to stitch so my solution was to make them myself. There is still a stigma with cross stitch that it is a 'granny craft' and although I believe there is a lot of beauty to traditional cross stitches I want to create modern and fun patterns and stitches that can appeal to a new generation of stitchers. Everything in my shop is unique to Rather Unseamly. I spend the time thinking up the designs and creating them. Nothing goes into my shop unless it is something I want to stitch and if I believe the design will appeal to a modern audience. Often enough I find myself with at least 3 of my patterns on the go at once! I find inspiration from all over the shot. Sometimes it's something I see online through blogs, Facebook or videos. Sometimes it's some sarcastic comment that a friend has made. Sometimes even I don't know where my designs pop into my head from! I'm always looking for new ways for cross stitches to be more than just pretty designs. I'm currently developing a range of kits and I'm starting to look into cross stitch jewellery. So stay tuned because 2015 is going to be an exciting year!
