John Lennon wrote "All we are saying, is give peace a chance." It was the anthem of the hippie generation, just as the peace sign was its flag. Every 1970's reference includes "Peace." Here it is three ways--text, motif and signal. Use them separately or all together as I have on hand-dyed needlework fabric that looks like tie-dyed fabric (also a popular hippie thing). The words are 63 stitches across and 42 stitches high as I have them spaced. The hand peace sign is 20 stitches across and 26 high, the round peace sign is 26 wide and 24 high. The colors really don't matter. Use whatever leftover embroidery floss you have on hand. Finish it off in a hoop like I did or put it in a frame or a pillow. I've been crafting for most of my life (4+ decades), spending at least half of that time quilting. I learned to crochet decades ago, and have done a lot of needlework such as embroidery and cross stitch. Just last year I taught myself to knit, and recently, I started designing my own patterns in crochet, knitting and needlework.
