"Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation." - Rabindranath Tagore Wendy Christine Basham is my given name. No doubt I was born with a threaded needle in my tiny hand. Since I was little I've loved writing stories and sewing stuff. One of my first projects was a cross-stitched happy green frog with bright mushrooms - each "x" was like an inch high. My mom and aunts are avid quilters, jewelers, crocheters (is that a word?), knitters, etc. - so we drink batik dust in our afternoon green tea. Quilts, cross stitches, sewing, and artwork are my design areas. Raspberry Lane Crafts (www.raspberrylanecrafts.com) houses my paper patterns, sewing supplies, and artwork. "The Art of Wendy Christine" is mainly SouthWest-style made into botanical prints with names such as "Mission Rose", "Blue Stone" and "Liberty" and my new collection of crosses like "Stained Glass" and "Cruzar Amarillo" in vivid colored pencil. When I'm not at the theatre enjoying plays, drinking tea, or designing patterns, I host a bi-monthly environmental news podcast "The Ocean to Ozone Show" (www.ocean-to-ozone.org) promoting conservation and celebrating the beautiful places and creatures of our planet. An honoring bow to you enjoying the sewing and artwork as much as I do. Have a lovely day!
