Easy - beginner friendly. Only whole cross stitches are used (no partial stitches). Helpful hint: Since the chart is printed on multiple pages, you will notice shaded rows on pages where there is an overlap with the following page. You should not stitch the area of the overlap twice, as it is only for reference so that you can cut and tape pattern pages together to make a larger, more complete chart to work from. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Cross stitching on counted thread fabric (Aida cloth or evenweave fabric). SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished design area is 190x190 stitches, or approximately 13.75x13.75".

Recommended with this pattern

  • 14-count Aida cloth or 28-count evenweave fabric (approximately 18x18").
  • Embroidery floss in 10 colors (see pattern key for required yardage amounts).
  • Embroidery needle, scissors, and embroidery hoop or stretcher frame.

When I was about five, my grandmother pinned the edge of a dishtowel to my skirt to hold it taut while I embroidered my initials. When I finished stitching, I discovered I'd stitched the towel to my skirt. Oh well. It did not deter me from having many adventures as I tried all types of needle crafts, but I always seem to return to my favorite, counted-thread embroidery. I hope you'll enjoy working my designs. Check back often for new counted thread patterns.
