www.brookesbooks.com Liz Westlake, Rachelle Murphy and I have a Christmas gift for you stitchers out there. Yes, a twenty month long Christmas gift that we're kicking off right now. So, here's the skinny...I'm designing twenty-five little animals decked out in Holiday garb to celebrate the countdown to Christmas. I'll release one or more on the last Tuesday of each month from March, 2014 to October, 2015. You can stitch them any way you'd like...As an Advent calendar or as ornaments or on towels, stockings, pillows, etc...They will all measure 43 x 52 stitches and have the same candy cane border. I've designed them with DMC floss on 28 count Babbling Brook Jobelan from Wichelt Imports. But if you'd like to make them extra special, I'd highly recommend using Liz Westlake's Dragonflylotus handspun silk threads that she created especially for these little guys. They are positively yummy. She stitched her models two ways with her Petite and Regular weight threads on 40 and 32 count Forest Haven linen from Silkweavers. Please check out her exclusive thread packs here: http://www.handspunthread.com/collections/brooke-s-books-animal-advent-stitch-a-long Please also check out the fabulous MATERIAL PACKS that Rachelle from THE COTTAGE NEEDLE ON ETSY.COM has put together for this collection. She's offering fun fabrics (Polka dots anyone?) DMC, Cosmo, wooden hoops, Bohin tapestry needles and even some little surprises...For example, she's included a tiny bell for Cassie Cow.
