My creativity sparks after ten o'clock at night. It is not unusual to find a latte or hot tea sitting on my desk next to me. It is also not uncommon for me to crawl into bed past 3am. I have been embroidering for well over 30 years and quilting for nearly as long. My techniques have morphed over the years, but the basic skills are still used just as much. I began designing quilts a few years ago -- one won a ribbon in the last regional show. I have also previously taught students to embroider and quilt in various settings throughout the years. So, recently I decided to push it to the next level and become a professional pattern designer. My design work is meant to be whimsical, fun, thought-provoking, complex, and most of all, inspire creativity in those working with my patterns. Not unlike working a puzzle! My patterns will always use at least a box of Crayola crayons (the bigger the better), a Pigma Micron pen, 40-50 wt. thread, whatever else is handy, and lots of imagination! These are not your basic "crayon" and hand embroidery patterns! I would say that my artwork/patterns might not be for beginners; however, I am currently teaching a brand new quilter how to unleash her creativity on the fabric. This is her very first project!
