Q&A with Shanna Swisher

Brenda Wright asked:
Very nice! Is it coloured pencil? Pastel would also lend itself to this .....
Shanna Swisher answered:
Yes, it is coloured pencil. I was working in layers. Usually I work in mixed media, combining colored pencil, with pastel and ink. Thank you for commenting.
NancyLynne asked:
Thats a neat idea! White is hard to do, I never what color to make all those shadows, great job!
Shanna Swisher answered:
Thank you for commenting. It was fun to do.
AdhillsGal asked:
Using the black paper in this way was very clever and effective. It really makes the white flowers pop. I also like the subtle use of purple (my favourite colour), to give the sense of depth. It is a lovely drawing. I am in Australia and have never heard of "scooby-doo" paper. Would you mind replying to this with some details about the paper?
Shanna Swisher answered:
It is not special paper. I was in the kids aisle for coloring books and such, and I found a black pad of paper with Scooby-Doo and the gang on it. It is just plain black paper, and neon crayons came with it.
