Payment for Charon #PetLove

Project Description

What was your source for this piece? Improvisational What type of piece is this? Collage/Mixed Media Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. In this piece I used graphite to sketch out the skull and then fine tune the realism on it. Then to make an aged look to the paper, I added coffee and tea stains, crumpled it up a little bit, and burnt the edges. I then used a mixture of water color and spray paint to have a darker looking background. The piece is about death and the payment of the Greek God Charon, who when you die would ask for an offering/payment to carry you across the River Styx. So a darker fluid color was used as background. I then used marker to bring out the points in the skull, and to make it look more like a diagram of death, I labeled the names of the parts of the skull. In total, I spent $10.03 making this. Is the piece for sale? Yes Name of website or online shop www.facebook.com/jessica.friskney What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the composition of the piece, and how a lot of people look at it, and ask why. I then, get to tell them about an intriguing story about death, and the afterlife.
