Lesson 2 - border

What type of piece is this? Drawing Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. This was done in Strathmore heavy weight paper, 9"x12". I used charcoal pencil, and HB and a 6B for the shadows. Not sure if I did too much detail in the grasses and not enough in the foreground. Looking at it now the shadows in the background look more like blotches. I will try to correct that. I did a practice run (see other pic) and used water on the charcoal on the right side of the picture, with the grasses. On the left side of the picture I used a brush to smooth the charcoal. Not sure if that effect is better.
